Focus and Scope

At CAOS, we aim to publish original articles/art work/poetry that foreground critical forms of social inquiry, research and practice. These include but are not limited to Anti-Oppressive Practice (AOP), Intersectionality, Anti-Racism, Anti-Black Racism, Anti-Colonization, Decolonization, Feminism(s), Anti-Capitalism, Ageism, Labour Studies, Queer Studies, Trans Studies, Mad Studies, Fat Studies and Radical/Critical Disability work. Our goal is to foreground conceptual pieces, original research as well as critical practice inquiries. We invite submissions from researchers, scholars, and academics, as well as students, activists, front-line workers, policy makers, artists, and advocates who participate in critical social inquiry.

Peer Review Process

Our peer review process includes the following steps:

1. Initial review by the editor at CAOS

2. Assignment of at least two independent reviewers.

3. A set criteria for reviewing the submission including questions around organization, argument, definition of concepts, use of existing literature and recommendations to help authors revise their work for publication.

4. A period of review of approximately eight weeks.
